We Provide

  • Roadworthy Certificates (RWC)
  • Certificate of Inspection (COI)

What is a Roadworthy Certificate (RWC)?

A Roadworthy Certificate confirms that your vehicle is safe to be driven on the road. It verifies that key safety components are in proper working condition and meet legal standards.

This certificate is commonly required when selling a registered vehicle or transferring ownership to a new buyer.

How long does a roadworthy inspection take?

Allow between 2-4 hours when booking in your roadworthy certificate inspection. The requirements include taking detailed photos of your vehicle, a road test and a safety check of the vehicle in accordance with your state based requirements. If you have any questions before or on the day, please do not hesitate to ask.

What happens if I pass or fail?

If your vehicle passes the inspection, a roadworthy certificate is usually issued electronically. If your vehicle fails, you have a maximum time limit (depending on your state) to complete repairs/rectifications and return the vehicle for a follow-up roadworthy inspection. Our expert team of mechanics are ready to assist with any roadworthy repairs. Think of us as your one stop roadworthy shop!

What is a Certificate of Inspection (COI)?

A Certificate of Inspection (COI) is an official program regulated by Queensland Transport and Main Roads (TMR). It ensures that commercial, passenger, and fleet vehicles — such as taxis, rideshare cars, buses, and delivery vans — are kept in a safe, roadworthy condition throughout their operational life.

Unlike a one-time Roadworthy or Safety Certificate, a COI must be renewed periodically (usually every 6 or 12 months, depending on vehicle class). It's mandatory for vehicles used for hire, passenger transport, or business operations.

At Friendly Auto Care, we're fully licensed to perform both COI inspections and standard roadworthy checks. Our experienced team ensures your vehicle meets every compliance requirement so you can stay confidently on the road.

What We Check During an Inspection

Our certified inspectors carefully assess critical safety components, including:

  • Braking system condition
  • Tyres and wheels
  • Suspension and steering
  • Lights and indicators
  • Windscreen and visibility
  • Body condition and safety features

If any issues are found, we clearly explain what needs to be repaired so your vehicle can meet the required standards.
